Dates are a sweet fruit grown in the tropics. This fruit has a sweet taste, soft texture and hard core. Dates come in the form of clusters of palm trees and will remain in the same cluster shape until harvest.
The tree has a height of 10 to 20 meters and the growers of these palms have their own methods for harvesting them. Apart from the product of this tree, which is a date, its other components need to be used a lot. For example, decorative leaves, baskets, blankets or bags are made from the leaves and branches of palm trees.
Date kernels are discarded by many consumers of this fruit, but it is better to know that the same kernels are used in the desert. The nomads grind the kernels and then turn the kernel flour into bread. This bread is used to feed camels. Some other nomads roast date kernels and make coffee from them.
The unripe fruit is called Khark, and the date that is in the first stage of full ripeness is called Rotab. This fruit, which has many benefits, is widely used in various countries, especially in Muslim countries, on occasions such as the holy month of Ramadan, mourning, and so on.Many Muslims use this fruit for funerals or for the beliefs they have for the souls of their dead.
