Soil suitable for planting palm trees
The palm tree is an unpredictable plant and can be used in any type of soil from pure sand to heavy sedimentary soils that provide the basic needs of palm for soil settlement, provide minerals and water, have drainage and are permeable to water. However, the best soil type for palm palms is deep, well-drained, relatively light-textured soils with sufficient organic matter and sufficient water holding capacity.
Optimal temperature for storing date palms
The ideal temperature for planting and maintaining a palm tree is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius. Extreme heat affects the evaporation and perspiration of the palm and exacerbates dehydration. It will also have a negative effect on pollination, especially if it is associated with dehydration stress.
Methods of propagation of date palm
Date palms are propagated by three methods: seeds, cuttings and tissue culture seedlings. The use of seeds due to the dual nature of date palms and also the very long seedling growth period is used only in breeding work and is not recommended for the construction and operation of commercial palm groves. Therefore, the commercial propagation of date palms is done by two general methods of sowing and weaving.
